The Bible Bee

Yes,  I have signed up for the National Bible Bee. Today is the start of the second week, while all together there is twelve weeks until you compete in August. One of the things I LOVE about the Bible Bee is that you can't lose! Even if you didn't make it to Nationals you would still be a winner. Well,  since this is only the fourth year of the National Bible Bee I get a lot of questions on what the Bible Bee is all about.  Here are some answers to those questions

What Is The National Bible Bee?  The Bible Bee is like a Spelling Bee but instead of memorizing words you learn verses.  Also there is a Sword Study which is studying a certain book of the Bible which this year is 2 Timothy.  For five days of the week you will read a portion of 2 Timothy, answer questions on Timothy and Paul's life and learn about missionary's from the past.

How Many Verses Do You Study?   All of the verses are on separate cards. This year all of the Bible Bee contestants learn twenty-five cards about eleven verses a week for a 10 week period.

Where Will the National Be Held? This year they will be held in the Pigeon Forge/ Severville area at the Wilderness of the Smokies.

I will try to post more about the Bible Bee in the weeks to come.

HIS FIRST HAIRCUT

Sam had his first haircut a few days ago. He sat so straight and mature in his chair that it cracked us all up.  Whenever we asked him if he liked it he would give us a tiny grin and just kept looking at himself in the mirror.  All his baby curls are gone and now he seems more grown up although he still acts like our sweet blond hair blue eyed boy.  Happy Friday!

EASTER SUNDAY

This Easter we had a family get together at our house complete with games, food and laughter. I took tons of pictures but don't have enough time to put them all on here, well these are just a few of some of the great times we had yesterday.

Just remember that the real reason for Easter is not new clothes, candy, or eggs its about Jesus God's Son rising from the dead so we can have an eternal home with Him in Heaven some day. Now that's a reason to celebrate!

SPRING IS IN THE AIR!

A couple of days ago I brought the boys back some books from the library about Easter.  There was one in particular I loved.  Its called the Easterville Miracle.  The story is about a boy named Sam traveling throughout his town trying to find the real meaning of Easter.  It has such a good ending that I recommend this as a great family read aloud.

Today was our Easter musical. My Dad did such a good job directing the choir! I'm so grateful to sing about the love of Jesus with others. The picture above is our Praise team, where we sang God is So Good.

This has been a very random post but I'm going to try to write more about Spring things (and share some pictures) later on this week.
